This upscale Indian restaurant is located in the Emirates Financial Towers - a somewhat, for no apparent reason other than being situated a fair bit away from the Gate Village, overlooked part of DIFC. With a food menu that deliberately is kept away from the molecular cuisine, and rather presents classic Indian dishes with the touch of true masters in the kitchen, they do little to disappoint in the gastronomic aspect. The cocktail menu is ample, while a brief description of each drink would indeed be helpful, since not all of the guests are savant-mixologists.
With peerless views over Downtown and Burj Khalifa, this place is definitely one to visit - but go for the full dining package rather than putting your money on the cocktail experience alone.
Atmosphere: 6/8
While they do have a lounge area, it seems as if the footfall during the weeks doesn't allow them to keep it open, and thereby you're left with the bar, that feels a bit like sitting in the entrance (which actually is the case).
Cocktails: 6/8
The cocktail menu is following a theme (India vs. England) - but it’s hard to find the common thread without help from one of the bartenders, as the menu doesn’t let on much other than the factual ingredients.
Bartenders: 5/8
Nifty bartenders that know their signature cocktails well, while a bit more attention could be paid to the classics.
Ice: 6/8
Big, clear ice cubes make their way into the cocktails, now up the game and bring in some artistry and hand craft - and go for the full score.
