Pierre's, Festival City

Having gone through a transformation from white table cloths and super fine dining to a more appealing sharing concept, one could assume that the service and quality of food might have dropped as well - not in this case though. The food is exceptional and the staff is even better. If you’re ever in doubt regarding a proper French meal with the fun and creativity present as well, this is your place. For an all-nighter with cocktails and drinks? Perhaps not so much - they have a nice terrace for the winter months, and a DJ in charge of the tunes, but this is not the place to expect great deeds in lowball glasses.

Find your way to Festival City and take the elevator down to the green jungle in the bar, before heading on to the culinary Wonderland of the restaurant - take no prisoners, show no mercy - the menu is to be conquered.

Atmosphere: 7/8
You instantly get the feeling that the design team had loads of fun when outlining this place - it’s full of details, feels intimate even though it’s a massive place, and all of this while it all follows a theme. The French version of easy listening is flowing out of the speakers, adding to the pleasant kind of quirkiness Pierre’s is full of.

Cocktails: 4/8
The average cocktails that do what they should, except for raising eyebrows and getting surprised nods - for a cocktail before dinner, this place is a winner though.

Bartenders: 5/8
Professional bartenders that are attentive, forthcoming and interested in their guests - but their creative sides unfortunately never get the opportunity to be showcased.

Ice: 4/8
The standard normal small ice cubes - you can do better than this, Pierre Gagnaire.
