Following the Italian (Cipriani and Scalini) and Greek cuisines (Gaia), it’s now time for the Bulldozer Group to take on the bold east Asian flavors. As is the case with the previously mentioned sister restaurants - Shanghai Me is a sight for sore eyes; an all-encompassing design with a masterful attention to detail and elaborate menus all vouch for that special experience. After the first few critical months, which they’ll pass with flying colors, this place will definitely be one to watch out for.
Come here to experience the different kitchens in China, Hong Kong and Japan, add to that the feeling of Shanghai in the 1930s and allow yourself to be swept away by the unwavering cocktails
Atmosphere: 7/8
Yet another creation from the Russian dynamo Evgeny Kuzin, and true to his history - the place is ticking a lot of boxes in the atmosphere department; beautiful furniture, a well thought out lighting concept and a worthy playlist luring in the background.
Cocktails: 6/8
An interesting cocktail concept with a menu you can read upside down too. Solid drinks delivered with a professional poise. Normally a brief description would be needed, but given how eager the bartenders are to explain the menu, it’s not necessary.
Bartenders: 6/8
The bartenders are undeniably at home with their menu, and can provide both detailed and interesting facts about the cocktails and the menu.
Ice: 6/8
These guys know their ice trade - big, clear ice cubes, and in some cases even frozen glasses. The ice is tempered as well, which helps in keeping it from cracking when adding the liquids.
