Asado, located in the Palace Downtown, serves exceptional Argentine dishes, where the meat courses stand out, but from a cockail perspective they do leave a lot to wish for. The bar holds the standard assortment, but having the right location (Burj and fountain views outside the door), this establishment should be able to attract people wanting to have some proper cocktails - suggestions like Gancia Batido, Fernet con Coca (an acquired taste, to say the least), Beso de Frambuesa (if you can find it, you should try it) or a simple glass of Malbec, all pop out as options to put on the menu (truth to be told though, Fernet and Coke already is). But then again - some places are just happy serving good quality food, and being able to provide a few drinks to their guests - respect.
Come early Sunday evening, enjoy a proper asado dinner and sip a few cocktails while you admire the Tango elite of Dubai - after a few weeks, or a few cocktails, you may try it yourself...
Atmosphere: 4/8
While being one of the true great meat restaurants in Dubai, this place rarely comes to life, except for during the Argentine Tango nights.
Cocktails: 5/8
On par drinks with no frills or twists - some would say boring, but they seldom dissappoint.
Bartenders: 5/8
Bartenders that don’t have a lot of inspiration - guests come, have a cocktail before dinner, have dinner and maybe, just maybe, a drink after dinner.
Ice: 4/8
The standard small ice cubes - the benchmark diluted cocktails.
