Hidden away in the Emirates Financial Towers, this gem deserves attention of the crowd. With a heavy industrial feel and panoramic views over the Burj Khalifa, it’s unlike anything else in Dubai - add to that the fact that the bar belongs to Al Grissino, an upscale Italian restaurant - thereby making delicious Italian nibbles available in the bar, and the combination is a true unicorn. Having said this though - it is as stated in the first sentence - this place is in need of a footfall injection.
Come here for some Italian antipasti, a Negroni and a cool view over Burj Khalifa - but be prepared for an ambivalent lighting scheme.
Atmosphere: 5/8
This place is a treat to the eye - neon lights inside a steel cage having downtown Dubai as a focal point outside, decent drinks and a nice playlist - solid.
Cocktails: 6/8
Well executed classics that follow the handbook, with a few twists.
Bartenders: 5/8
Bartenders that have an ambition and willingness to impress.
Ice: 5/8
Big ice cubes are a proper way to chill cocktails, except for the likes of Sazeracs - in this case orderly presented without ice.
