While visiting Phoenix Social Club, I decided to also review the cigar lounge Diademas, in The H Dubai. It’s a small place, but the furniture is nice, and there is a bar counter that looks inviting for a small chat with the bartender. But the bartender doesn’t have the ingredients even for a Negroni, and has to go borrow Campari from who-knows-where, meaning that the cocktail - when finished - is watery (but cold). A quick look in the humidor also suggests that the footfall for this place is probably not high enough to keep a good stock of cigars, or alcohol.
Both from the cocktail bar and the cigar lounge perspective, there are better places out there - trust me.
Atmosphere: 4/8
The place looks nice enough, but there is no buzz to it, me being the only guest.
Cocktails: 4/8
Albeit a Negroni, it’s awfully diluted since the bartender went to get Campari while keeping the ice and gin in the glass.
Bartenders: 3/8
A bartender that doesn’t keep Campari in the bar stock?
Ice: 2/8
Not only is it small ice cubes, they are left way too long in the cocktail.
