Masti was voted Best Bar for Mixed Drinks in Time Out 2019, and I am tempted to agree - at least so far into my Dubai cocktail bar endeavours. They have cleverly named cocktails, all related to the classics - “First flight to Bombay” is their version of the Aviation, a T-groni is a Negroni (the three liquors infused with a different tea each, and so on), the Saz-Attack is - well, you guessed it - a Sazerac, and a huge bar counter perfect for long visits discussing cocktails with the bartenders. The bartenders are all very well-versed in the ingredients and process of making the cocktails, and don’t be afraid to ask them to serve you something out of the menu - you will be pleasantly surprised. If you get the chance, make sure to get a guided tour in the Gin Room, housing over 70 different kinds of Gin, some of which have been in-house macerated.
Come early and stay late - the food is definitely worth a visit in its own as well.
Atmosphere: 8/8
Views over the ocean from the panoramic windows, vivid artwork and beautiful interior design combined with jazz tunes from the live band or DJ's captivating tunes - it’s alluring.
Cocktails: 7/8
A well thought-out cocktail concept with innovative versions of the classics.
Bartenders: 7/8
Up-and-coming bartenders with a firm focus on delivering the highest quality - but they should get more training on vintage cocktails.
Ice: 7/8
Clear ice with an ice stamp - only thing missing is an ice block and with that true ice craftsmanship.
