Finally the winter months are here, and with them an array of outdoor bars open their doors yet again. Flair No 5 is situated outside of Ritz Carlton in DIFC and offers plenty of lounge furniture, metropolitan views just by looking up from where you are and a jungle feel thanks to all the greenery. Also, they have a lot of Gin on offer, paired up with some of the best Tonics available (I missed 1724 Tonic Water though), which is a nice touch, even though from a cocktail perspective it doesn’t take them all the way.
For sure this will be one of the true waterholes of the winter for the trendy night scene audience in Dubai - expect feasts for the eye, but perhaps not for the true aficionados.
Atmosphere: 7/8
The botanical garden of DIFC certainly delivers on the atmosphere; a swanky outdoor bar in the heart of the financial district offering an extensive variety of Gin & Tonics, to the tunes of a resident DJ.
Cocktails: 6/8
Too much of a firm focus on Gin & Tonics for a complete high score, but what they do, they do good.
Bartenders: 5/8
While surely competent, the bartenders are struggling with giving attention to their customers in the bar due to all the orders coming in.
Ice: 6/8
Big, clear ice cubes accompanying the cocktails - well done!
