Being one of the currently five restaurants with a license in La Mer, OSH has a lot talking in its favor - location (location, location), a successful predecessing mothership in London and an exciting menu (who else hasn’t tried the Uzbeki kitchen before?) - in other words; expectations set high. The end result? Mixed feelings - the food has a spectrum ranging from decent to fantastic, and the same goes for the cocktails; but with too few top notes, and too many decent. This place is simply more apt for food and hanging out with friends than chasing the perfect cocktail.
With fantastic views over the Dubai skyline, good music and a range of food you’ve (probably) never tried before - this place is a must-visit in La Mer.
Atmosphere: 5/8
Captivating views out over La Mer and Downtown and a big terrace with the DJ’s tunes in the speakers - but the bar is too small and too much focus on show compared to quality.
Cocktails: 5/8
Far to many fruity concoctions in the menu - while there is an art in getting the right balance of low alcohol drinks, there’s also a subtlety in being able to find the right equilibrium of the more serious cocktails.
Bartenders: 5/8
Bartenders that are doing a more than decent job - it can’t be easy to keep up with all those floral cocktails during the night.
Ice: 4/8
Big, clear ice cubes accompany the cocktails - well done.
