This Michelin two star New York institution has just recently made its way to Dubai, and while the food is supposed to be truly special, they do have a more than decent bar in the upstairs restaurant. With a focus on Italian food, the cocktails are predominantly Italian in their touch, but by all means - the bartenders do know how to rustle up any of the old classics, albeit they sometimes miss the ingredients for special requests. Take the elevator down one level, and step into the comfortably decorated nightclub come secret bar, and be swept away by the classics accompanied by the DJ’s tunes. This is also a great place to enjoy a cigar, there may not be any views to boast with (like Churchill Cigar Lounge has), but the craftsmanship of the bartender makes up for it.
Come to the restaurant bar to enjoy a cocktail or two, go to the basement bar to start your night out.
Atmosphere: 6/8
The upstairs bar is beautiful, with a comfortable buzz from the dining guests.
Cocktails: 5/8
Solid drinks with no frills, but the focus is more on aperitifs and digestifs than hardcore mixology.
Bartender: 5/8
While surely competent, the bartenders aren’t given the possibility to shine - focus is on the food.
Ice: 6/8
Inclusion free ice in big chunks - but too small glasses.
