Rüya belongs to the same group as Zuma and Coya (reviews to come), and with that comes a lot of expectations on quality of food, interior design and being on top of the game - all these aspects come together in Rüya, and with a few more touches from the management, it would be easy to see them ending up in the top. A few easy fixes would be suggested - big, clear ice cubes; for a place like this to serve the cocktails uneven and cloudy ice spheres brings down the impression of the cocktail, more bartender creativity - let the boys shine and do what they do best, and last but not least; give us a speakeasy version of Rüya - a lot of the other big shot restaurants have it, and it’s successful, so why not?
Go here for the to-die-for pide, dream away to the subtle top notes of the Saze-Raki and enjoy the fantastic outdoor terrace during the winter months.
Atmosphere: 6/8
With impeccable interiors, taking you back to the Ottoman era, this place is a sight for sore eyes - during the winter months when the terrace is open, it’ll be a more including bar feel as well.
Cocktails: 6/8
Interesting signature cocktails that all are kept within the theme - work is needed in presentation both in the menu and in the glass though.
Bartenders: 5/8
These guys are solid, but don’t get the chance to showcase their skills - more freedom for the bartenders please.
Ice: 5/8
Big ice cubes vouch for cold cocktails, while clear ice would be more pleasing to the eye - also worth mentioning is the ice that rains from the funnel in the ceiling.
