Situated just down the hall from the equally self-explanatory named restaurant The Restaurant (reviewed earlier), The Cigar Lounge adds to the selection of premium decorated restaurants and lounges in The Address Downtown. With a firm focus on high-end cigars and accompanying drinks, rather than the other way around - this may not be for everyone. But if you, like me, enjoy the occasional cigar and with that some premium spirits, then it’s definitely worth a visit. Coming winter months there is also a terrace with nice views over the Dubai Fountain.
A place like The Cigar Lounge should also have The Bartender, The Ice and The Cocktail - but you come here for The Cigar, the rest are lucky and random bonuses.
Atmosphere: 6/8
Absolutely stunning interior, a polite and attentive service and the likes of the Rat Pack in the speakers make this place a really nice hangout if you enjoy cigars and decent cocktails - give me a more well-versed bartender and the big scores will come.
Cocktails: 5/8
A Old Fashioned on par is always a good start, but the smokiness and Japanese touches are nowhere to be found - a place like this may not have to excel in creativity, but for the premium prices, premium cocktails should be flying out of the bar.
Bartenders: 5/8
Hard to fault the bartenders, the menu is not that exciting - but attention to detail and the passion needed is not always present.
Ice: 6/8
Big ice cubes are a nice touch, now level up and go for the clear ice as well.
