Having heard a lot about Flamingo Room - and knowing that they belong to tasha, who is also the mastermind behind Galaxy Bar and Avli, the first visit was not without expectations. All of them were exceeded though - the place is a wonderfully over-the-top Miami Vice version of a restaurant, and closing your eyes, it’s easy to see Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing around in the Art Deco themed place to the tunes of Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra. This place is timeless in the most beautiful sense with a clientele worthy the most subtle of art forms: People watching.
Have a glass of Champagne in the bar in the middle before it’s repurposed, raise your eyes and enjoy the soothing reflections in the ceiling - and end up in the bar with the ambitions to go through the menu.
Atmosphere: 7/8
One of the most beautiful restaurants and bars out there - inspiration has been taken from the owner’s home country - South Africa - but the decor is perhaps best described with Miami Vice meets Art Deco. During the winter months, the big panoramic windows are all open, making the space feel even bigger.

An inspired cocktail menu with inventive yet toned down versions of the classics - all well executed, of course.
Bartenders: 6/8
It’s easy to see that Tasha has a firm focus on cocktails - the bartenders are well-versed and has that professional touch behind the bar.
Ice: 7/8
Big, clear ice cubes with a “Flamingo Room by tashas” ice stamp accompanying the cocktails - in short an excellent way to treat your cocktail.
