The flagship restaurant of the Meat Co in Dubai has newly reopened in a beautiful facility in Madinat - from the tables located outdoors you have an iconic view of Burj Al Arab, but from a cocktail perspective, it’s in the bar you want to be. True attention to detail is found in this entrancing gem of a bar - refurbished to the highest standard - and having had dinner here, I know it’s one for the books regarding food as well. Any carnivore out there should come at least once when in Dubai.
.
Come for a short visit in the bar (with a separate entrance, it feels like a place in itself) or opt for the full experience and go all in on meat, with accompanying aperitifs and digestifs. Either way, you’re in for a ride.
Atmosphere: 7/8
This place breathes and more or less incarnates the true meaning of cocktail bar (albeit it’s “only” the bar of a massive restaurant) - the only thing lacking for a full score is more attention to detail, from the staff - but I’m confident that will be taken care of as time goes by.
Cocktails: 6/8
An inviting concept of the classics that shows a variety of skills and ideas - but an improvement would be to include a brief description of the cocktails; even for the Cocktail Dandy it’s hard to fathom the outcome of combinations like Gin, agave, cucumber, radish and “round out flavors”.
Bartenders: 6/8
A lineup that is fronted by a more than competent Ukranian duo is both kept busy by the orders from dining guests, but also holding up both the conversational level as well as the bartending experience with the guests at the bar itself.
Ice: 6/8
Impressively large ice cubes that seem to be hand cut to size - now take this to the next level and go for the clear ice.
